The City of nesher is located in the northern part of Israel , in an area known as the Haifa Bay Region. This region , which includes the part city of Haifa , the ancient city of Acre and several other municipalities is the most industrialized in Israel, with petrochemical facilities, important commercial and business activity , and advanced of higher learning.
Over the past several years , Nesher has undergone important changes.
Since 1990 , following the recent wave of immigration to Israel from the former Soviet Union , the city ‘s population has grown by more then 100% from 10,000 resident to 25,000 today.

In that time 3,000 new housing units have been built and more than 35,000 square meters of educational and public facilities space has been added.
In recognition of this rapid growth , and the successful way in which it has been managed by the local municipality , the Israeli government recently took the significant step and raised the status of Nesher from local council to city.
